Homework Reminder
Students at Birdwood always have homework!
You may hear "I've done it all at school" or "I don't have any". Please contact your child's Advisory Teacher or Wade Hall if your child regularly appears to be doing no homework.
Here you can check current work and due dates. Check the 'Student Work' page to see exactly what the current work is and the 'Home' page for due dates.
A half to 1 hour per night is reasonable. This can be adjusted to suit community activities of course.
Major Tasks will be uploaded to the site regularly.

Glossary
PBL: Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, problem, or challenge. click here for a more in depth look at PBL
P3 : Publicly Presented Product. The final product from a PBL. Presented to parents, interested community members, employment groups and of course parents.
T2 (T squared, means Targeted Teaching): specific skills taught to students as required and in small groups no bigger than 12 students.
PEoL: Presenting Evidence of Learning. Previously known as exhibitions, students present to family members their learning from a term's work. Held beginning of term 2 and end of term 3.
Rubric: A chart used as an assessment tool that explicitly represents the performance expectations for an assignment. Making it clear to both students and teachers how grades are achieved.
AIL: Academy of Innovative Learning.
